Third Rock Running is free to use. Some of the ways we cover our costs involve being paid, and we think you should know exactly which ones.
Affiliate links
When a race is hosted on certain registration platforms, we may earn a small commission if you register after following our link. This costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same either way.
We are not currently earning commission on any registration links. If that changes, this page will say so, and any race where we earn a commission will show a note next to its registration button.
What this does not affect
Commission never influences which races appear in our listings, or the order they appear in. Search results are ranked by date and distance from the ZIP code you enter — nothing else. A race that earns us nothing is treated exactly the same as one that does.
We also never add a race, or leave one out, because of a commercial relationship. Our listings come from race organizers and public sources.
Featured races
Separately from affiliate links, race organizers can pay to have their race featured. Those races are always labelled Featured so you can tell paid placement from an ordinary listing. Featured placement and affiliate commission are two different things, and we keep them visibly separate.
Links we do not earn from
Most registration links on this site are ordinary links that earn us nothing. You will only see a commission note on races where we actually have a referral arrangement in place.
